Joint statement from GOSH and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Following the Court of Appeal's judgment concerning the decision-making process to determine a patient's eligibility to receive Nusinersen, GOSH and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust issued a joint statement
We're sorry that this has been an upsetting and frustrating time for Sophie’s family.
The court have asked the doctors to look again at their decision making concerning the NHSE eligibility criteria for the patient, and the Trusts will work with the family to do so. The judges said they had the highest regard for the expertise and dedication of the doctors involved, who they noted were conscientious and well-intentioned.
We will do all we can to support Sophie and her family. Due to patient confidentiality, we will not comment further in relation to her medical condition or treatment.
