Update for patients on our Dental Services

8 Mar 2023, 10 a.m.

An update for patient families on the dental services at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

We are experiencing significant delays in our dental services, which has recently been exacerbated due to staff shortages.

What does this mean for appointments?

The shortage of staff in our service is causing delays in how quickly we can see patients and there may be a wait for your child to be seen by our team.

To minimise the impact on patients we are reviewing every patient on our waiting lists to determine what treatment they need and the impact of a delay. We will be prioritising appointments for children with the most urgent care needs, and we will be in contact soon if your child needs urgent care.

We’re very sorry for any inconvenience these delays may cause, and we understand that you may have been waiting some time for an appointment. Please be assured that our patients care is our number one priority, and we are working hard to resolve the issues. We are also working with other hospitals to see what support they may be able to offer.
