Safe nursing - staffing reports

All hospitals are required to publish information about the numbers of nurses working on each ward day and night, both registered and non registered, together with the percentage of shifts meeting safe staffing guidelines.

This initiative is part of the NHS response to the Francis report and subsequent expectations issued by the Department of Health and CQC to provide greater openness and transparency in the health service.

Information about staffing levels will be published monthly. Full details will also be reported to our Trust Board meetings.

Each ward is displaying a poster for patients and visitors to see in all of our wards that shows the planned number of nursing staff and the actual numbers of nursing staff working on the shift.

The Safe Staffing reports for nursing can be found in the Trust Board minutes.
