Great Ormond Street Hospital joins the Circular Economy Healthcare Alliance (CEHA)

Great Ormond Street Hospital is proud to join the Circular Economy Healthcare Alliance (CEHA), a collaborative network of NHS Trusts committed to accelerating the transition towards a circular economy for healthcare products.

By working together, we aim to replace single-use items with reusable alternatives wherever clinically feasible, minimise waste, reduce carbon emissions, and increase staff awareness of sustainable practices.

Our participation in CEHA reflects our dedication to sharing knowledge, supporting national policy, and acting as a model for others in the sector.

We will actively identify opportunities to reduce or reuse products based on local procurement data, participate in monthly alliance meetings, and share insights to drive positive change.

Through our procurement processes, we will prioritise products and suppliers that enable this transition, building the skills and systems needed to embed circularity in our operations.

By joining CEHA, Great Ormond Street Hospital reaffirms its commitment to ‘do no harm’—not only to our patients, but to the environment and future generations. We look forward to collaborating with our partners to create a more sustainable NHS.
