What does being a governor mean to you?
Being a governor means being a voice for patients and ensuring decisions are made around their needs. It is also my way of giving back to the hospital that has cared for me throughout my childhood.
What are you looking forward to in your role as a governor?
I am looking forward to continuing to advocate for patients and siblings, helping to ensure young people’s voices are heard in important decisions. I am also excited to learn more about how the hospital works and contribute to making a positive difference for patients and families.
What lasting impact would you like to leave as a governor?
I’d like to help create changes that make future patients feel heard and respected during their time at GOSH. I also hope to make a positive impact on communication and accessibility which is a big thing for patients especially those whose first language is not English and have learning disabilities so everyone feels included and supported throughout their care.
What do you admire about GOSH?
I admire the strong sense of community at GOSH and how patients, families and staff are supported together. GOSH has also shown a major commitment to world-leading research and holistic care, making sure children and young people are cared for not just medically, but emotionally and personally too.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy going to the gym and spending quality time with my friends and family.
