Workshops and Events

The out-of-hours activity provision, supported by Morgan Stanley, allows for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) inpatients and outpatients to access fun, engaging and educational activities during school holiday periods.

Whilst these workshops have been mostly virtual over the two years, due to the hospital's COVID-19 infection control regulations, we are looking to have a hybrid approach moving forward with some small in-person workshops for outpatients and a continuation of virtual activities for all.

Previous workshops we have put on include:

  • sensory art
  • clay modelling
  • spoken word poetry
  • podcasting
  • digital art
  • collaging
  • make-up masterclasses

We work with amazing organisations such as the National Portrait Gallery, Camden Summer University, Spread a Smile, Flamingo Chicks and others to deliver these activities.

Patient feedback

When I was shielding, I couldn’t go outside, to school or see friends. I really enjoy art, so I started taking part in the art workshops. They were great because I could participate safely from home and experiment with types of art I’d never tried before. I’ve done Christmas decorations, pottery, ink and collage workshops, Line of Thought’s drawing workshops and more recently a podcast workshop."
