Children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism
At Great Ormond Street Hospital we have a learning disability and autism team.
What we do
Our team are committed to ensuring that children, and young people with a learning disability and/or autism receive the highest quality of care at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
We help advocate for equity of care for our patients through a variety of different means including the flagging of and assisting to implement bespoke reasonable adjustments plans, liaising with clinical teams across the trust and providing advice and support with planning complex admissions.
In addition to children and young people we also support parents or guardians who have a learning disability.
We understand that attending hospital can be a daunting experience for our patients and their families and we wish to make coming to Great Ormond Street as positive experience as possible for all involved.
