Meet the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care team

Acting Lead Chaplain and Head of Spiritual Care

Dorothy was ordained in the Church of England 1998 in the Diocese of London and has been a Chaplain at GOSH since 2002.

She has spent most of her ministry in healthcare chaplaincy, gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Chaplaincy in 2006 and an MA in Chaplaincy & Pastoral Care in 2022.

She is inspired every day by the patients, families and her colleagues at GOSH.

Dorothy works every Monday to Friday.

Senior Chaplain

Romana combines her work at GOSH with working for the Muslim community as a female spiritual facilitator and as an Islamic counsellor. 

She works across the hospital to support Muslim families.

As well as her work at GOSH, Romana is a chaplain at Kings College London.

Romana's usual working days are Tuesday to Friday.

Kate is our Roman Catholic Chaplain, she has a background in school-based chaplaincy, with experience of offering support to children in a variety of primary and secondary school settings. She continues to work extensively in the charity sector to support children, young people and families in times of particular challenge.

Kate's normal working days are Mondays, Tuesdays, alt Thursdays and Fridays.

Fatima was appointed as the first Muslim female chaplain at GOSH in 2009. She is available to support Muslim patients and families with their spiritual and religious needs.

Fatima's usual working days are Mondays and Wednesdays.

Imam Foyzur studied Islamic Higher Education (Kamil, MA). Alongside his work at GOSH, he serves as an Imam and public speaker in various Mosques, and has experience in prison chaplaincy. In 2020, Imam Foyzur completed a Chaplaincy Foundation Degree from GSTT, and was a chaplaincy volunteer at The Homerton Hospital. In 2023, he graduated from Southbank University with a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Chaplaincy and was appointed to his current role at GOSH.

Foyzur works on Tuesday and Thursday, or Thursday & Friday (every alternative week)

Chaplain

Having worked in several different sectors, Patience took a leap of faith and began working as a Chaplain in 2021 supporting asylum seekers. Her love of Chaplaincy and children led her to GOSH. She is an active member of her local faith community and leads is various capacities. She studied Social Psychology at university and is currently undergoing training to become a Psychotherapist and Coach.

Patience's working days are Wednesdays and Fridays and alternative Tuesdays.

Chaplaincy Volunteer

Rabbi Alan is here once a week and can be consulted on any matters which need rabbinical advice or support. He is also available to advise staff on cultural and religious issues for Jewish families.

Mary is in on Mondays, supporting our patients and families across the hospital.

Sister Rachel is a member of the Servite Order and has a healthcare background. She supports our RC families and the chaplaincy team on Fridays.
