Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion

At the NIHR GOSH BRC we recognise that equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is not only essential to building an inclusive workforce but also fosters scientific research excellence.

We want to ensure that EDI is embedded into everything we do at the NIHR GOSH BRC and so we are currently working to build a clear, action-led EDI strategy.

More about EDI at our partners GOSH and the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health

Our hospital partner, Great Ormond Street Hospital, is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion amongst all staff, stakeholders, service users and patients. To find out more about how GOSH is embedding inclusion in everything they do, visit their diversity and inclusion webpage.

Our university partner institution, UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH) was awarded a Gold Athena Swan award in 2020 for its commitment to gender equality. GOS ICH has several focus groups and a Race Equity Group dedicated to different aspects of EDI. For more information, visit UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.

Our strategy

As we build our new EDI strategy, we are keen to make sure everyone is represented and that all views are heard, so if you have any comments or feedback, please contact our EDI Coordinator, Poonam Palan on p.palan@ucl.ac.uk
