GOSH welcomes new Chief People Officer

Lizzie Smith will join the children’s hospital from NHSE London region.

Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Lizzie Smith as Chief People Officer.

Lizzie, currently Chief People Officer at NHS England (London region), will join the Trust in the Autumn to take up the new role.

Lizzie previously led the regional Health Education England team. She is the senior responsible officer for the NHS London Anchors programme, which works to address health inequalities, promote social and economic growth and improve sustainability in healthcare.

Lizzie has extensive leadership experience across complex systems and of supporting transformation programmes, focusing on all aspects of the NHS people agenda.

On her appointment, Chief Executive of GOSH, Karl Munslow Ong said: “I am delighted that Lizzie will be joining us. She brings a wealth of system knowledge and leadership experience and will play a pivotal role during a period of opportunity and challenge for our Trust and as we work to achieve the ambitions set out in our Together We Power Care Strategy.”

Lizzie added: “I am thrilled to be joining GOSH, an iconic NHS organisation, with its long history and position as one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals. I look forward to supporting the incredible people work at GOSH, whose dedication makes a profound difference to children and their families every day.”
