GOSH Arts is very pleased to announce that for the first time ever, the GOSH Art collection is now available for the public to access online.

The art collection at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) comprises more than 320 artworks including paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, textiles and digital pieces. Over 250 artists are represented in the collection, including well-known artists such as Quentin Blake, Clare Twomey, Helen Chadwick, Jason Bruges and Random International.

With support from the GOSH Children’s Charity, we have been able to undertake an inventory of the art collection, appraising all of the works, as well as photographing and digitising them. In order to improve awareness and access to the collection we created resources and activities for patients and staff, and hosted an exhibition in the hospital of previously unseen works. Now we have partnered with Art UK to host the collection online, making it freely discoverable and accessible to anyone worldwide, as well as networking GOSH Arts to dozens of other hospitals and arts organisations in the UK. To mark the launch of the GOSH Art Collection onto Art UK, an article by GOSH Arts Curator Kate Phillimore, has been published that highlights a number of key works in the collection as well as illustrating GOSH Art’s dedication to commissioning inspiring and relevant artworks that contribute to an environment of health and wellbeing for GOSH’S patients, their families and our staff.
