Creative Residency opportunity

Are you interested in imaginative approaches to public art, architecture and the built environment, and working with children and young people through a process of co-design?

GOSH Arts is looking to appoint a creative practitioner or collective to lead on a Creative Residency with the hospital school.

Phase 4 of the GOSH masterplan will include a state-of-the-art Cancer Centre, relocating and expanding capacity for GOSH School, as well as creating a new front entrance. Construction will begin in 2023 and will be ongoing for approximately 3 years. Prior to construction a temporary entrance will be created where most patients, visitors and staff will be entering the hospital for the duration of works.

With the support of teachers at the hospital school, GOSH Arts team, and working closely with the appointed architects, the creative practitioner/s will work with children and young people on a creative programme to enhance the arrival experience including the temporary entrance and wider public realm. We are interested in an approach that will allow the young people to develop an understanding of the design process, and replicate aspects of it.
