Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases

The Centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is a multidisciplinary service specialising in the diagnosis, evaluation and management of young people with inherited cardiac conditions.

The highly specialist service cares for children and families affected by a range of genetic heart conditions, and is staffed by experienced doctors, nurses, genetic counsellors and psychologists who are experts in the care of patients affected by this group of conditions.

The team runs outpatient clinics throughout the week at GOSH where they see patients diagnosed with inherited cardiomyopathies, arrhythmias and aortopathies. The team also looks after children who are at risk of inheriting one of these conditions due to a known or suspected family history of an inherited heart condition.
