Dr Laura Ferreras-Antolín
Dr Laura Ferreras-Antolín is a Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases at GOSH. She is an honorary senior lecturer at UCL Institute of Child Health and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology (University of Exeter).
Specialisms
Her main clinical specialisms are fungal Infections, infections in cancer and post-transplant patients, paediatric tuberculosis, antimicrobial stewardship and congenital infection.
Laura is co-chair of the British Association for Paediatric Tuberculosis.
Qualifications
MBBS MD PhD FRCPCH. Laura graduated in Medicine from the University of Salamanca and completed her paediatric training in Málaga (Spain). Before moving to GOSH in 2025, she had eight years consultant experience in PID at St George’s University Hospital.
Research Interests
Laura’s main research interests are invasive fungal infections in children, with focus on antifungal stewardship and neonatal candidiasis. Her work aims to improve how serious fungal infections are diagnosed and treated in everyday clinical practice.
