Ameenat Lola Solebo

Lola is a Consultant in Paediatric Ophthalmology since May 2017, and has been a part of the GOSH Uveitis team since April 2016. She is also a post-graduate Epidemiologist at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. She holds a prestigious National Institute of Health Research Clinician Scientist award.

She first came to the GOSH eye department as a junior doctor in 2005.

Qualifications

Lola graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Medical School with prizes in Neurology and Epidemiology, and was also awarded a Bachelors in Neuroscience from University College London.

She trained in Ophthalmology at Hospitals in London and Yorkshire, and trained in Paediatric Ophthalmology at Great Ormond Street and Moorfields. She holds a PhD in Paediatric Ophthalmic Epidemiology, and held an NIHR Clinical Lecturer award from 2013 to 2018.

Research Interests

Lola’s research provides information on the determinants of outcome for children with eye disease, and how best to use this information to improve clinical practice and national health policy
