GOSH marks Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

2 Sep 2025, 8 a.m.

Join us in the Lagoon on 3, 4 and 30 September between 11am and 2pm for a range of activities to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

This global awareness month dates back to 1990 and takes place each year. Investment in research and treatment has significantly improved survival rates for those with childhood cancer. However, over the last 30 years, rates of childhood cancer have increased and every year, around 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide (World Health Organisation) and cancer remains the biggest killer of children aged one to 14 in the UK (Cancer Research UK).

At GOSH we want every child and young person to get the best possible treatment. Through the development of our Children's Cancer Centre, we are ensuring that we have the right environment for our clinical teams to do their best and for patients to be cared for in a holistic environment that reflects their needs.

Join us to mark this important month in the Lagoon this September!
