Newborn Screening

The North Thames Newborn Screening Laboratory at GOSH is the largest regional Newborn Screening Laboratory in the UK.

Approximately 125,000 newborns are screened at GOSH every year, with an average of 500 babies screened daily. This accounts for approximately one in every five babies born in England.

We cover Maternity Units in North London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex.
