You are a valued member of your child’s healthcare team and we encourage you to take part in their care as much as possible while in hospital.

There is a comfortable waiting area for parents that you are welcome to use while you are waiting for your clinic appointment. We ask that you do not bring hot drinks into the department but there is water provided.

Meals are not provided for parents or children, but food and drink can be bought from various places within the hospital and local area.

For children:

There is a dedicated play area for children that we hope your child will enjoy while visiting Caterpillar.

A play specialist will be available to provide appropriate support for your child.
If your child needs a blood test or any other investigation, a play specialist can help with preparation and distraction.
