Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Administration in Children and Young People

Clinical and Professional Education

This module aims to provide learners with an opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills, and competence in administering Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy.

Overview

This module aims to develop the learner’s skills and knowledge required to become competent in administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) for children and young people (CYP). This module provides learners with the opportunity to critically analyse the holistic care of a CYP receiving SACT. This will lead to competent practitioners providing effective administration and evidence-based practice. A blended learning approach is applied, including both classroom and online activities via a Virtual Learning Environment. Critical thinking and evaluating practice experiences will be encouraged throughout the module. Learners will have the opportunity to complete the SACT passport for CYP as part of the national framework in the UK.
