Lesley Cochrane

Miss Lesley Cochrane

Consultant Otolaryngologist

International Education Lead

Miss Lesley Cochrane is our Education Lead for International Education within the GOSH Learning Academy. Lesley has worked as an ENT Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital since 2004 and has national level experience of surgical education and curriculum development. Lesley qualified, trained and undertook her MD in Canada before moving to the UK and taking up a Paediatric Clinical and Research Fellowship at GOSH in 2004. She is a member of the Specialist Advisory Committee for ENT at the Royal College of Surgeons and is Communication Lead for National Selection of Otolaryngology higher surgical training. Lesley leads on Great Ormond Street Hospital's established International Fellowship Programme, as well as opportunities for us to share education from GOSH with partners abroad.

Vicky GLA

Vicky Nash

Associate Director of Education

Vicky Nash is the Associate Director of Education in the GOSH Learning Academy. Vicky has a professional background as a Nurse, specialising in Advanced Clinical Practice and Paediatric Critical Care. Vicky has worked as a senior member of the GOSH education team since 2017, prior to this she led Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practice at London South Bank University and has a strong history in course design and curriculum delivery.

Ben

Benjamin Low

Head of International Education

Benjamin Low is Head of Education within the GOSH Learning Academy. Ben started working at Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2012 and has a clinical speciality interest in paediatric haematology and oncology. Since 2015, Ben has worked in various education positions and is dedicated to ensuring we provide learners with an excellent experience to develop relevant skills and knowledge.

Eleanor McGonegal

Ellie McGonegal

International Education Manager

Ellie McGonegal is our International Education Manager within the GOSH Learning Academy and joined Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2017. Ellie manages Great Ormond Street Hospital's International Fellowship Programme and is the main point of contact for all enquiries regarding international education. Ellie is passionate about ensuring we provide an excellent service to all of our international contacts.

Lora Espancho

Lora Espancho

Practice Educator - International Nurse Education

Lora Espancho is also the Practice Educator for International Nurses. Lora started at Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2010 and has worked in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (Flamingo Ward) before joining the team. She is originally from Negros (Philippines) and prior to joining GOSH, she has worked across London and internationally. Lora’s role in the GOSH Learning Academy is to develop the skills and knowledge of nurses to ensure the best care is given to patients and their families.

Practice Educator – International Nurse Education

René Oberortner is a Practice Educator for International Nurses. René is originally from Austria where he worked for 8 years in a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. He started at Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2016 and has worked in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit before joining the team. His role is to share his nursing expertise with international nurses and help to develop clinical skills and knowledge.

Emily Silcox

Practice Facilitator - International Nurse Education

Emily Silcox is a practice facilitator for international nurses at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As an international nurse from Canada, Emily knows first-hand what it is like to come to a new country and health care setting and how daunting it can be. Emily’s role in the GOSH Learning Academy is to provide pastoral support, guidance and knowledge to the International Nurses throughout their time at GOSH. Prior to this role, Emily has worked in various clinical settings and for the last six years has worked on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
