Mr Zubair Tahir
Mr Zubair Tahir is Consultant Paediatric Neurosurgeon and has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) since 2013.

Mr Tahir also works as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the UCL Institute of Child Health.

Mr Tahir received his medical degree from the University of Punjab, Lahore. His Neurosurgery training was at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, during which he gained fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2014. Mr Tahir has also received the European Board and World Federation Certifications in Neurosurgery.

He spent one year at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool to complete his Paediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship followed by a second fellowship in Epilepsy Surgery at GOSH. He was appointed as consultant Neurosurgeon at GOSH in 2015.

Apart from his passion in training and education, he shares specialist interest within paediatric neurosurgery in the surgical management of children with refractory epilepsy, spinal dysraphism, and provides antenatal counselling for congenital anomalies.

Research Interests

Mr Tahir is an accomplished researcher and has numerous publications related to paediatric neurosurgery. He has presented his research in various national and international conferences. His research interests include surgery for epilepsy, management of paediatric head injury and spinal dysraphism.
