The Feeding and Eating Disorders Service (FEDS)

The Feeding and Eating Disorders Service (FEDS) is a national specialist service working in partnership with local teams to support children with a range of feeding and eating difficulties.

The Feeding and Eating Disorders Service (FEDS) is a national specialist service working in partnership with local teams to support children with a range of feeding and eating difficulties. These include children and young people with difficulties that could meet criteria for conditions such as Anorexia Nervosa (AN) or Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Some children that we work with may have dietary difficulties in the context of neurodevelopmental and/or medical conditions.

We are a mental health and not a primarily medical service and therefore work in partnership with local teams, who manage medical and risk factors. Our team is multidisciplinary and consists of professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, dietitians, family therapists, play specialists, occupational therapists, mental health nurses, speech and language therapists and psychotherapists. See our meet the team page for more information.
