The Clinical Simulation Centre offers a wide range of multidisciplinary courses for all healthcare professionals; both clinical and non-clinical. Please find our upcoming courses and events below:

Anaesthetists' Heart Simulation - Wednesday 14

One day simulation course for anaesthetic trainees, focusing on the management of intra-operative complications specific to children with cardiac disease. Delivered by an expert faculty of paediatric anaesthetists and simulation educators.

Learning Disability Simulation Study Days - Monday 19 and (a) Tuesday 20 (b) Wednesday 21

This blended learning course is designed to enhance the skills of staff working within healthcare to improve the care provision for people with a learning disability. This course merges simulation scenarios with focused lecture sessions and workshops; where candidates can explore key issues surrounding LD with a range of clinical and non clinical experts. The two day course is comprised of virtual lectures and workshops on day 1 and immersive simulation on day 2. Please select option A or B when booking your place for day 2.

ENSIPP (Enhancing Skills in Paediatric Physiotherapy) - Tuesday 28

This simulation based study day will provide the opportunity to utilise existing paediatric physiotherapy skills within critical care scenarios.

Human Factors Engineering - Thursday 14

This virtual course examines how clinical human factors and the systems that healthcare practitioners work in impact upon performance, efficacy and patient safety.

We will explore systems approaches to healthcare quality and patient safety; how mental models contribute to decision-making; the role of non-verbal cues in team interactions; and the importance of 'cultural intelligence' for diverse teams.

Guest speakers include Jennifer Izekor, founder of Above Difference.
