Overview
This one day simulation based study day focuses on the technical and non-technical elements of safe and effective care for children and young people with mental health conditions. By attending this study day, participants will be able to rehearse the skills required to enhance their practice in the care of children and adolescents with mental conditions, including communication, risk assessment and care planning.
Learning outcomes
- Enhance practice in the care of Child or Young Person with mental health conditions.
- Judge what information is relevant to provide when referring to child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the legal framework for children and adolescents presenting with mental health problems.
- Formulate a risk assessment of children and adolescents presenting with mental health problems in paediatric settings.
