The Together Festival

The Together Festival on the 19 – 21 September, will present a series of workshops, tours, talks and performances that are open to all patients, families, staff and local residents. From fun family-friendly activities, to film screenings and contemporary dance, there is something for everyone.
The festival will be a chance to view the The Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children and its inspiring art commissions ahead of its official opening and will bring to life and animate the spaces and ideas behind its conception.
All events are free and most are drop-in, but some require booking – please look out for the registration links below:

Art and Architecture Panel Discussion 7pm, Seminar Room Bringing together the architects, curators and artists involved in creating the Zayed Centre to discuss the role of public art in healthcare, innovate site specific commissioning, and engagement with patients and public. The Together Chorus 7pm, Atrium A large scale choral performance sung by a mass choir made up of the GOSH Parent and Staff Choir and a number of community choirs from the local area or associated with the GOSH Arts programme. The Same and Different Ongoing 12am – 3pm, Outpatient Garden Artist Isobel Manning will lead family workshops in the Outpatient garden area, inspired by Dana Al Mazrouei’s unique tactile circular artwork, and recreating some of the participatory activities with GOSH patients that originally inspired the work. The Red Balloon Time: 2pm, Seminar Room Screening of Albert Lamorisse’s classic short film The Red Balloon, one of the visual references for The Kinds of Life ‘orb’ concept, followed by the screening of a series of animations by artists collaborating with biomedical scientists, commissioned by Animate Projects as part of the Silent Signal project. Chief Executive Mat Shaw to take up additional role
The Chief Executive of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), Mat Shaw, has become Whittington Health NHS Trust’s Interim Accountable Officer. This role is in addition to his role at GOSH.
