ATMTD Pump Priming Funding Call 2019

CLOSED: The theme for Advanced Treatments for Malformation and Tissue Damage (ATMTD) funding call will support projects starting on 1 April 2019 for up to 24 months. Funding of up to £50K per project is available including staff costs (excluding PI time) and consumables.

Internal GOSH and ICH applicants only

The theme for Advanced Treatments for Malformation and Tissue Damage aims to pioneer advanced treatments and develop new devices to provide therapeutic options for children with congenital malformations and tissue damage. Funding will be awarded to meet the costs outlined in the application only. This funding call will support projects starting on 1 April 2019 for up to 24 months. Funding of up to £50K per project is available including staff costs (excluding PI time) and consumables. The funding limit for consumables is £10K per application and the total amount available for purchasing of equipment shall not exceed £5K per item.

Only one application per PI will be accepted and applications need to show partnership between GOSH clinical teams and ICH research groups. Applications can be led by clinical and academic staff as well as early career researchers (i.e. research staff not in a permanent academic post) supported by a tenured academic mentor as a co-applicant. Funding will be awarded to meet the costs outlined in the application only. All projects will be considered, but priority will be given to those which:

  • Closely align with the new ATSMTD theme strategy
  • Clearly lead to patient benefit within the NHS
  • Have potential to further funding through external funding streams

Applications for pump-prime funding of new experimental medicine projects that are designed to secure longer term funding for the development of advanced treatments for malformation and tissue damage are particularly welcome.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on 23 November  2018

Application process

Applications must be registered and costed through the normal process. Completed registration forms must be emailed to research.registration@gosh.nhs.uk at least 15 working days before the deadline. Application forms containing approved costs should be submitted to Dauda Bappa (BRC@gosh.nhs.uk) together with a copy of the Investigator's CV (two pages max) by 5pm 23 November 2018. Applications received after this time will not be considered.
