Fabian Norman-Taylor, Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Norman-Taylor has been a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2000.

He has worked as a consultant at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Before that he spent time in Melbourne and Toronto and did his training in London and East Anglia. He has experience in all areas of children’s musculoskeletal problems.

Mr Norman-Taylor has a particular interest in helping children with the orthopaedic consequences of brain, nerve and muscular conditions and therefore works with the neurodisability and neuromuscular teams quite closely. For example, he likes to see the children before and after selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) and he does a joint clinic with the neurodisability team every month.

He has honorary contracts at Chailey Clinical Services and at The Children’s Trust Tadworth.

Qualifications

  • MBBS and FRCS (London)
  • Orthopaedic training in London and East Anglia
  • Specialist overseas fellowships at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne

Research Interests

  • Pain management after surgery for children with cerebral palsy.
  • The surgical management of hip displacement from cerebral palsy (CP).
  • Hip and foot management for CP and other neuromuscular conditions.
