Daniel Morgenstern

Dr Daniel Morgenstern is a Consultant Paediatric Oncologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer. 

He works at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and University College London.


Dr Morgenstern has a particular interest in neuroblastoma, one of the most common types of solid tumour affecting children, and has experience of both the clinical management of patients and scientific research into this disease.


Qualifications and training

Dr Morgenstern’s medical training and PhD research were at the University of Cambridge, before he moved to London to complete his paediatric and oncology training, including an Academic Clinical Lecturer post at the UCL Institute of Child Health. He subsequently worked with the Drug Development team at the Royal Marsden Hospital before moving to Toronto in Canada, where he was an Inaugural Clinical and Research Fellow in Neuroblastoma at The Hospital for Sick Children. He returned to London in 2013 as Consultant Paediatric Oncologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at GOSH and University College London.

Research interests

Dr Morgenstern is a member of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology Europe Neuroblastoma (SIOPEN) collaboration, as well as the UK neuroblastoma sub-group of the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Clinical Study Group. He is currently developing research projects in the field of neuroblastoma.
