Cathy Cale

Dr Catherine Cale is an expert in the diagnosis and care of children with primary immune deficiencies. She has worked as a consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) since 2001.
She is currently clinical lead for the Immunology Laboratory Service, an active member of the consultant team providing inpatient and outpatient care to children with primary immune deficiencies and is also interim Co-Medical Director at GOSH.

Qualifications and training

Dr Cale holds membership of the Royal College of Physicians, Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists.

She trained in general paediatrics in Birmingham and Bristol, and received specialist training in paediatric immunology at GOSH (including undertaking a PhD). She undertook additional training in a variety of adult immunology centres throughout the UK to obtain expertise in immunopathology.
