Quality Improvement Training

The Quality Improvement team provides comprehensive training in improvement methodologies and a range of development opportunities for GOSH staff.

Whether you have an idea for a project or want to learn more about QI, we offer a series of practical sessions, services and tools to support improvement across the Trust and in local areas. These courses and services are available to all staff within the Trust.

We currently offer three levels of Quality Improvement training at GOSH:

You are new to QI and would like an introduction to improvement concepts. Length: 1 hour. View dates and book your place for Intro to QI.

If you would like this course to be delivered to your team or department, we can arrange this for you on an agreed time and date, delivered face-to-face or online. To request this, please email us.

You wish to develop your understanding of QI and learn about the tools to run your own project. Length: Full day. View dates and book your place for QI Intermediate.

You have previously completed QI training and you’re ready to dive deeper into QI theory and apply it rigorously to a project over the course of one year. Length: 8 half-days across 2024. View dates and apply for QI Expert.

For our QI Leader (QI level 4) course, please email us if you would like to be the first know!

For those wishing to undertake their own local QI project, we also offer a mentorship programme to support staff with the knowledge and resources to run their own improvement project with support and guidance from the QI team.

You'll take the lead in planning and delivering improvements. We'll provide expert advice, offer training opportunities, and support you to use data to measure the impact of your work.

If you're interested in running a QI session for your team, we can often accommodate bespoke sessions focused on one or more of the topics we teach.
