Bobby Gaspar, Professor of Paediatrics and Immunology

Professor Bobby Gaspar is an expert in paediatrics and immunology at GOSH and the UCL Institute of Child Health. His research spans many aspects of primary immunodeficiencies including genetic diagnosis, haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and gene therapy.

Paolo de Coppi

Paolo de Coppi, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon

Dr Paolo de Coppi is a consultant paediatric surgeon at GOSH, and a clinical senior lecturer in the Surgery Unit of the UCL Institute of Child Health. Dr de Coppi is leading research into regenerative medicine, which aims to engineer rejection-free organs and healthy tissues for transplant using a patient’s own cells.

Helen Cross

Helen Cross, Professor in Paediatric Neurology

Professor Helen Cross is The Prince of Wales’ Chair of Childhood Epilepsy and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Neurology at GOSH. She has published widely on many aspects of childhood epilepsy, specifically on seizure, neuropsychological and behavioural outcomes in children who have undergone surgical resection for treatment of their epilepsy, with her research focusing on ways to improve outcomes from early onset epilepsy.

John Anderson, Consultant in Paediatric Oncology

John Anderson, Consultant in Paediatric Oncology

Professor John Anderson is a consultant in paediatric oncology at GOSH and leads a research team at the Institute of Child Health. His clinical and research interests lie in new cancer treatments such as immunotherapy, especially for the childhood cancers neuroblastoma and high grade glioma.

Stephen Marks, Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist

Dr Stephen Marks is a consultant paediatric nephrologist and clinical lead for kidney transplantation at GOSH. His clinical and research interests include renal transplantation, systematic lupus erthematosus (SLE), vasculitis and hypertension.

David Dunaway, Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

David Dunaway

Mr David Dunaway is a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and Head of the Craniofacial Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). He has special interest in facial deformity, including the functional aspects of syndromic crainosynostosis, the correction of congenital facial deformity and three-dimensional surface imaging.

Matthew Fenton, Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist

Matthew Fenton, Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist

Dr Matthew Fenton is a consultant paediatric cardiologist at GOSH and an expert in cardiac medical advances such as the Berlin Heart device, which is used in children whose hearts are no longer strong enough to pump blood around their bodies. He is also an advocate of organ donation and organ transplantation.

Isabeau Walker, Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist

Dr Isabeau Walker is a consultant paediatric anaesthetist at GOSH. She specialises in all aspects of paediatric anaesthesia, with a special interest in cardiac anaesthesia, safety in the operating theatre including the World Health Organisation surgical safety checklist, and improving the safety and quality of paediatric surgery in developing countries.

Neil Bulstrode, Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Mr Neil Bulstrode is a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon at GOSH. His specialises in numerous fields within plastic surgery, including craniofacial and ear reconstruction, vascular anomalies and the treatment of congenital melanocytic naevii (CMN), a rare condition which causes large moles to grow on the skin.

Colin Wallis, Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine

Dr Colin Wallis is a consultant in respiratory paediatrics at GOSH, and past president of the British Paediatric Respiratory Society. He specialises in many aspects of respiratory medicine including cystic fibrosis, congenital lung and airway lesions and chronic respiratory failure requiring home ventilation.

Finella Craig, Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine

Dr Finella Craig is a consultant in paediatric palliative medicine at GOSH. Her work has focused on developing services for children with non-malignant disease, the interface between intensive care and palliative care, antenatal and perinatal palliative care and the specific needs of young adults.
