Catia Lemmi

Dr Catia Lemmi is a Clinical Psychologist in the Social Communication Disorders team. Catia has over 10 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and families to assist individuals to get closer to their goals and overcome any difficulties.

She has particular experience with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and who have additional difficulties with anxiety or depression. She has also conducted research in this area. 


  • Assessment and treatment of autistic spectrum disorders and associated mental health difficulties 
  • Evidence based parenting interventions for children and young people with behavioural difficulties (Triple P)
  • Additional skills in Mindfulness and Incredible Years parenting techniques 

Qualifications and training

Catia completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Padua (Italy). She also completed her Statement of Equivalence in Clinical Psychology with the British Psychological Society when she moved to the UK. Prior to moving to the UK, she has worked as a Clinical Psychologist in Italy in a number of public mental health settings including child and adolescent mental health services, and in a National Specialist Service based at the Stella Maris Research Institute in Pisa.

Research interests

Catia has worked on research into parental adjustment following a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders in young children. She has also worked on a comparative international research study into bullying and victimisation in adolescence and related psychological health symptoms.
