About the Adolescent Medicine department

The Adolescent Medicine department has been part of Great Ormond Street Hospital since 1997 providing care and support for adolescents who are inpatients and outpatients.

An advisory and supportive role is also provided to the staff of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Adolescent Medicine is part of the Medicine, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services (MDTS) Division.

Services

The primary clinical role for the team is to provide specialist support to the wards managing adolescents.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalpmyelitis service

The Great Ormond Street Hospital Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME) service merged with the University College London Hospital Service on 1 January 2016.

The new service, the Treatment and Rehabilitation for Adolescents with Complex Conditions Service (TRACCS) will provide the assessment and treatment for adolescents and younger children with CFS/ME.
