Working for us

Katie Mottram and Sarah Powis

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) has a worldwide reputation for the care of children.

Our aim is to give all of our patients and their families the best possible care and ensure that the principle of the child first and always is at the heart of everything we do.

We offer many development opportunities, staff benefits and a genuinely supportive working environment, regardless of the department someone works in or the job they do.

Our staff come from a huge variety of backgrounds, and we all benefit from the wide range of experience they bring to the Trust.

We know that being a good employer is about much more than providing staff benefits. We have worked with our staff to develop a set of values that we can all share and that will firmly establish GOSH as the sort of employer that people want to work for.

These values are based on mutual respect, openness and accountability. In everyday terms they mean that we all have a right to expect courtesy, respect, honesty and integrity at work, and a responsibility to demonstrate these same behaviours.

Surveys of our staff and independent assessments all tell us that our staff feel very loyal to the hospital and would recommend it as a place to work. There can be no stronger endorsement of GOSH as an employer, and we hope that either now or in the future we can welcome you to our team.

Our staff deal with more than 220,000 patient visits every year. Read some remarkable stories from our patients and their families.

Listen to interviews with our staff to find out more about what it's like to work at GOSH.

We provide a range of subsidised and free benefits to support our staff in the work they do.

GOSH can help you find somewhere to live once you have been made an offer of employment.
