Volunteering for us

Welcome to Volunteer Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and thanks for considering becoming a volunteer!

Jamie Wilcox

"We have over 600 different opportunities in the hospital and our volunteers collectively provide more than 3,000 hours of their time every week.

"The Trust is committed to engaging volunteers in meaningful roles that enhance our services and add value to the patient and family experience. As such, the Trust looks to ensure that volunteers are well placed, inducted, trained and supported throughout their volunteering to guarantee the best possible practice and service.

"All our volunteers love coming to the hospital to undertake their role, knowing that they are making a real difference to people's lives. Volunteers tell us all the time about the great work that is happening.

"We are proud of our volunteers and the enormous contribution they make. I look forward to your application and you joining the team."

Jamie Wilcox
Head of Volunteer Services

Jane Collins

"One of the things I absolutely know to be true is that without the support of many different groups of people, we could not do as much as we want to for the sick children and young people we care for at GOSH.

"One extremely important group who help us do this are our volunteers.

"Volunteering takes many forms with volunteers helping in many different areas of the hospital. They bring their experiences, both personal and/or professional, to help us do our best for our patients.

"Giving up their own time is incredibly generous and I hope they are repaid knowing the difference they are making."

Dr Jane Collins
Chief Executive
