UK Mediation - Interpersonal Mediation Practitioner's Certificate

It is important that people who are qualifying as mediators have credibility within the organisation and are able to demonstrate the quality and professionalism of their mediation work, even if they go on to apply their skills without describing themselves as ‘Mediators’. For this purpose, GOSH mediators will be registered onto the UK Register of Mediators for no charge.

Compassionate Extubation Simulation-Based Study Day

This multi-disciplinary simulation study day brings together participants from a variety of backgrounds.

Working with professional actors, and through a combination of taught sessions, simulation and debriefing, you will go through and learn about the process of transferring a ventilated child from intensive care for an out-of-hospital, hospice based extubation.

Educational Supervision

This half day interactive course is designed for new supervisors and introduces the key concepts of educational supervision. It will enable delegates to gain an understanding of the valve in providing high-quality educational supervision, as well as a framework for how to manage challenging situations in that role.

When a Child Dies

A two day course utilising blended learning techniques to explore and demystify some aspects of this very challenging process. Actors are employed to provide a family for the simulated scenario elements. Topics covered include conversations around anticipation of death, the death of a patient, spiritual and cultural issues and finally and transfer to the mortuary.

This provides the opportunity to experience caring for a family at such a challenging time. Facilitated by professionals from GOSH Bereavement, Chaplaincy, Palliative Care and Mortuary Services.
