We are happy to receive
work experience requests. However, you must be at least 18 years old to be
placed in a clinical setting or 16 years old for a non-clinical setting.
This is because we are an
acute children's hospital and the patients referred to us can have physically
distressing symptoms.
We also carry out highly
specialised work that would not provide you with a typical clinical experience.
You might find it more useful and relevant to apply for a placement at a
general hospital or GP practice.
How to apply
If you are still keen to
gain work experience at GOSH, we recommend you contact the appropriate clinical specialty directly, either
in writing or by phone.
Once we have arranged a
placement for you, we will issue you with a contract to cover your time with
us.
Please allow sufficient
time for us to process your application - it can take a few weeks if we need to obtain Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance and references on your behalf. There may also be
an administration charge depending upon the nature of placement - more
information can be provided upon application.
