The NIHR Great Ormond Street Hospital Biomedical Research Centre (GOSH BRC) Junior Faculty is pleased to invite all early career researchers and staff from across GOSH, the UCL Institute of Child Health (ICH) and our Paediatric Excellence Initiative partner sites to the next session in its Bitesize Seminar Series titled:
Commercialising Your Research
The session will be on Thursday 22 February from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will focus on how researchers can effectively and successfully communicate their research. We are very excited to announce our special guest speakers:
- Karen Law - Head of Innovation at HealthTech Enterprise
- David Chapman-Jones - Innovation and Business Development Manager for the GOSH BRC
- Caitriona O'Rourke - Senior Business Manager at UCL-B
- David Collier - Senior Business & Innovation Manager at the UCL Translational Research Office (TRO)
This is a hybrid event, all are welcome to join in-person or online. There will be lunch provided from 1 p.m. ahead of the seminar that will commence at 1.30 p.m. Attendees will also have a chance to talk with the speakers face-to-face over free hot drinks after the seminar.
Background
The NIHR GOSH BRC Junior Faculty is running a series of educational seminars on topics for early career researchers. There will be six seminars every year focusing on skills to help give researchers training and networking opportunities to help in their academic careers.

We welcome all early career researchers and staff including clinicians, PhD students, post-docs, nursing and AHP staff and any others not mentioned here from across GOSH, ICH and our partner sites within the paediatric excellence initiative.
Event
This seminar in the series is on Commercialising Your Research and will be held on Thursday 22 February from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It will be a hybrid event, with attendees joining online via Zoom and in-person attendees meeting in the Ryan Connolly Room in the Zayed Centre for Research.
Agenda
- 1 p.m. – 1.30 p.m. A light buffet lunch will be provided in the Zayed Centre for Research cafe ahead of the seminar.
- 1.30 p.m. – 2.30 p.m. Seminar talks and discussions in the Ryan Connolly Seminar Room, Zayed Centre for Research and Zoom.
- 2.30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Networking and refreshments with speakers in the Zayed Centre for Research cafe.
