Dr Sinéad Marriott has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital since 2010 and is the lead psychologist within the Parenting and Child Teams.

Specialisms

Dr Sinéad Marriott’s areas of expertise are looked after and adopted children, children with a background of abuse and trauma and conduct disorder. Dr Marriott provides individual treatment for complex trauma and PTSD using EMDR and trauma focused cognitive behaviour therapy as well as behavioural interventions for managing challenging behaviours.  In addition to working at GOSH Dr Marriott provides psychological reports for adolescents and young adults within the criminal justice system.

Qualifications

Dr Sinéad Marriott obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from Canterbury Christchurch University (Salomons Centre) in 2000. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council and is an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society.

Dr. Marriott has completed the advanced level EMDR training and is trained in the use and interpretation of the ADOS-2, Child Attachment Interview and structured clinical assessments of risk of violence in adolescents and adults (SAVRY & HCR-20 v3).

Dr. Marriott has extensive experience of supervising qualified and trainee clinical psychologists.

Research Interests

Dr Marriott has published on the assessment and treatment of PTSD in children, assessment and treatment of complex trauma in children affected by domestic homicide and psychotherapy with young offenders.
