James Hatchley appointed as new Non-Executive Director

James Hatchley has been appointed as a new non-executive director at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH).Mr Hatchley joins a team of five non-executive directors on the Trust Board, who together contribute to the development of strategy for the Trust, monitor its activity and represent GOSH to the immediate and wider community.

Mr Hatchley has over 25 years of executive-level experience working in the financial services industry, most recently as European Chief Operating Officer of Kohlberg Kravis and Roberts, a US-listed global investment firm. Mr Hatchley brings a wealth of expertise in corporate governance best practice, budgeting, capital projects, strategic planning and decision making, and complex financial analysis. He also brings a parent’s perspective to the Board, having had a child treated at GOSH.

Since May 2015, Mr Hatchley has acted as the independent member of the GOSH Audit Committee and the Quality and Safety Assurance Committee and has demonstrated a clear commitment to the values of the Trust throughout his tenure.

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Hatchley said:

Mr Hatchley took up his position on the GOSH Board as of September 2016 for a three-year tenure. He steps in to the position vacated by Charles Tilley who has reached the end of his tenure on the board. Mary MacLeod has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman for the coming months.
