The London bus drivers’ strike proposed for Friday 22 June is likely to impact upon the Trust as it will affect staff, patients and families coming to the hospital. The impact of the strike could be no buses in Greater London (within the M25) from 03:00 on Friday morning, until 03:00 on Saturday morning.

Families who anticipate being unable to get to the hospital are asked to call their clinical department.

Everyone should plan for their journey to take longer than expected:

  • London buses are deploying staff to give advice to travellers at bus stations etc and will patrol some bus routes to inform people waiting for buses.

  • London underground intend to run a business as usual service, but no additional services will be provided. This is likely to lead to temporary station closures due to overcrowding, this will be assessed as per business as usual as the day progresses.

  • Overground rail will run a normal service with no additional trains being deployed.

  • The strike is likely to have a large impact across London, but the impact is likely to be greater in South London which has limited alternative public transport.
