Medical Illustration Award 2011
Maria Fernandez-Vallecas, Joanne Webb, Vincent Harding, Nicholas Geddes with IMI Award and David Smithson

The University College London (UCL) Medical Illustration Services department based at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) attended the Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI) Awards 2011 and came away with a myriad of prizes.

The IMI is a professional body which represents clinical photographers, healthcare designers, medical artists and clinical video producers both in the UK and internationally.

Every year the institute holds a competition, circulated to the members, awarding prizes that recognise excellence in clinical photography, healthcare design and clinical video.

Nicholas Geddes, Photography and Video Manager, beat over 350 entries to scoop up the IMI Photographic Award and Gold Award for his photograph of a GOSH patient with pectus excavatum

Other prize winners within the department include the Silver Photography Award to Maria Fernandez Vallecas and various silver and bronze awards to the design team, David Smithson, Joanne Webb and Vincent Harding.
