Review of Compliance at Great Ormond Street Hospital

4 August 2011

The Trust welcomes the Care Quality Commission report into Review of Compliance at Great Ormond Street Hospital. We are pleased that the Trust meets all the essential standards of quality and safety and that the parents that the CQC team spoke to were happy with the care provided for their children.

We note one suggestion from the CQC to improve the clean equipment labelling and the Trust is already implementing an action plan to address this.

The Trust would like to thank all of its staff who work so hard to deliver high quality and safe care to our patients.

The report can be found here.

Notes to editors

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust is the country’s leading centre for treating sick children, with the widest range of specialists under one roof.

With the UCL Institute of Child Health, we are the largest centre for paediatric research outside the US and play a key role in training children’s health specialists for the future.

Our charity needs to raise £50 million every year to help rebuild and refurbish Great Ormond Street Hospital, buy vital equipment and fund pioneering research. With your help we provide world class care to our very ill children and their families.
