Sir Cyril Chantler: term of office at Great Ormond Street Hospital extended

Sir Cyril Chantler has been re-appointed as Chair of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust (GOSH) with effect from 1 November 2008, to 31 October 2010.  The remuneration for the post is £23,020pa.  Sir Cyril joined GOSH as Chair on 1 February 2001.

Sir Cyril is also Chair of the Kings Fund, the Beit Memorial Fellowships Board and of the Clinical Advisory Group for NHS London. He is a trustee of the Dunhill Medical Trust, a member of the Council of Southwark Cathedral and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Sir Cyril holds no other Ministerial appointments and has declared no political activity. (1)

Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals, with the widest range of children’s specialists of any UK hospital.  With the UCL Institute of Child Health, it is the largest centre for research into childhood illness outside the United States.
