Wishing Well Campaign

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) is inviting the nation to support its 80s-themed campaign Then. Now. Always, which celebrates thirty years since the Wishing Well Appeal, the first major fundraising appeal for Great Ormond Street Hospital which launched back in 1988.The Wishing Well Appeal raised money for a brand-new hospital building at Great Ormond Street Hospital and was the largest ever national appeal of its kind at the time, supported with donations from people right across the UK. Thirty years on, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity still needs support to help make a difference to the hundreds of seriously ill children that arrive at the hospital from across the UK every day.

The 80’s themed campaign, which celebrates 30 years since the appeal, includes a takeover of the GOSH Charity website and digital platforms this week to mark the decade in which the Wishing Well Appeal took place. From looking back at some of the incredible supporter stories from the 80s, to launching a collection of 80s inspired t-shirts and inviting supporters to hold their own ‘dress 80s’ fundraising day, the campaign has something to appeal to all ages. Due to run all year round, the charity is urging supporters to get involved and fundraise to transform the lives of seriously ill children from all over the UK.
