He is one of only three full-time Paediatric Neuroradiologists in the UK.

Qualifications and training
Dr Chong graduated in Medicine from the University of Sheffield, UK in 1985 and also obtained a degree in Medical Physics.
He specialised in Radiology then Neuroradiology in London at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, and the Atkinson Morley Hospital, Wimbledon, London.
He completed his MD thesis in 1993 on the application of Quantitative Neuro-MR techniques.
His current research interests include:
- the application of magnetic resonance techniques to the investigation of brain development
- paediatric stroke and epilepsy
- the investigation of paediatric central nervous system tumours, metabolic and genetic diseases.
