Catherine Peters

Dr Catherine Peters is a consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and was appointed as a consultant in the Department of Endocrinology at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in 2010.

She works across all areas of paediatric endocrinology, with an emphasis on thyroid disorders, particularly congenital hypothyroidism.

Specialisms

Dr Peters specialises in the care of children and young people with atypical forms of diabetes that develop after organ transplant, cystic fibrosis and in relation to steroid treatment.

  • MBChB, MRCP, FRCPCH, MD.

Dr Catherine Peters trained in Medicine at the University of Birmingham (1995) with training in Paediatric Endocrinology in London (completed 2007). Clinical research was undertaken through University of London (MD 2005) and a Career Development Fellowship in Diabetes basic science research took place at the MRC National Institute for Medical Research (completed 2009). Collaboration with the Diabetes Research Group at Kings College London is ongoing.

Research interests

Current involvement with clinical research projects at Great Ormond Street Hospital take place within two multidisciplinary teams for congenital hypothyroidism and diabetes.
