Procedures we offer

Neurophysiology is a branch of physiology, the study of how the body works, concerned with the brain and nervous system.

A variety of methods are used to measure how the brain and nervous system are working, the results of which are then used to make diagnoses and plan treatment.

We carry out a wide range of neurophysiological investigations in the department, including:

Many of these tests are recorded to help the doctors compare a child’s brainwaves with their movements and/or behaviour at the time.

For some tests, having a video recording to compare with the brainwave recording is the only possible method of analysing your child's brainwaves.

Read our information on consent for more details about how we use these video recordings.
