ENT department policy on patient telephone calls
This policy has been written in response to the rising number of telephone calls received from parents, including those that are not patients of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
- During office hours, enquiries regarding appointments or admissions should be directed to the ENT office.
- Patient calls if urgent and regarding clinical matters, should be directed to the nursing desk on Panther Ward. If the nurse on Panther Ward feels the call is sufficiently urgent, then switchboard will be asked to redirect the caller to the appropriate Doctor on call. The contact details are shown below.
Calls from parents whose children are not patients of the ENT department of GOSH
- These callers should be redirected to their own general practitioner, NHS Direct or the website if applicable.
