Faltering growth

‘Faltering growth’ means that a baby or toddler is not growing at the rate that you would normally expect compared with others of the same age.

It is thought to affect around five per cent of children under the age of two at some point. It is not a condition in itself – there are lots of different possible explanations, with feeding problems being the most common.
